Nestled in the heart of the historic village of Aberford, our lovingly converted 200 year old cottage offers the perfect blend of period character and modern comfort. The accommodation is over three levels and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. This unique holiday retreat has been tastefully furnished, is warm, welcoming and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Pump Hill Barn is a perfect base for exploring Leeds, York and surrounding areas.
Aberford has a village pub, a Community Cafe and a Village Coffee Shop which sells basic essentials. There are several other pubs, major supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and a retail park only a 10 mins drive away. The village also has a children’s playground and a separate recreation area with a basketball court, a three-quarter sized tennis court, outdoor table tennis and a playing field.
Thanks to Aberford’s excellent transport links, you’re only a half hour drive away from Leeds, York and Harrogate and within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales. The local bus goes to Leeds City Centre, whilst trains from nearby Garforth will whisk you into the city in around 15 minutes and to York in about 20 minutes.
Aberford is the perfect base for visiting local attractions. Places to visit during your stay include Lotherton Hall, Castle Howard, York Minster, RHS Garden Harlow Carr, Fountains Abbey, Newby Hall and Gardens, the National Railway Museum, Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve and The Hepworth Wakefield Art Gallery. There are also two golf courses a short drive away.
For a family day out, visit Brimham Rocks and see the amazing collection of rock formations. Stockeld Park in Wetherby offers a variety of seasonal and permanent attractions including indoor and outdoor play areas and a maze. Temple Newsam House and Farm is seven miles away and has a GO Ape adventure park in the grounds.
There are walks from the door and village points of interest for you to discover, such as Nellie’s Tree, voted England’s Tree of the Year 2018.
The cottage has private parking for one car and there’s on the road parking close by. We welcome one well-behaved dog.
